A comforting and indulgent dish that combines the rich flavors of mushrooms and Swiss cheese with hearty ground beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 pound egg noodles
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  4. Stir in mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. In a large pot, bring beef broth to a boil, add egg noodles, and cook until al dente.
  6. Drain the noodles and combine with the beef mixture.
  7. Add heavy cream and half of the Swiss cheese to the noodle and beef mixture.
  8. Transfer to a baking dish, top with remaining Swiss cheese, and bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding fresh herbs.
  • Leftovers can be reheated easily in the microwave.
