Classic Baked Mac & Cheese combines creamy cheese sauce with pasta, enhanced by turkey bacon and chicken ham for a delightful twist on a beloved dish.

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. In a saucepan, cook turkey bacon until crispy, then add diced chicken ham and cook for an additional minute.
  4. In the same saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Gradually add milk, cheese, mustard powder, and paprika, stirring until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  6. Combine cooked macaroni, turkey bacon, and chicken ham with the cheese sauce. Stir until well combined.
  7. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with additional cheese if desired.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • For a crunchier top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
